Privacy Policy

Pregit.io is committed to safeguarding and respecting the individual's privacy on the Internet. Pregit.io also is committed to maintaining the privacy and confidentiality of any data we collect. This Privacy Statement describes the ways we collect information from and about you, and what we do with the information, so that you may decide whether or not to provide information to us. We cannot control and are not responsible for the privacy policies or privacy practices of our users or any other third parties. By using or accessing the Website or the Service and providing us with your Personal Data, you are accepting the practices described in this Privacy Policy, and you are consenting to our processing of your data as set forth in this Privacy Policy now and as amended by us in the future.

Information Collection and Usage

I. Personal Data That You Provide To Us

When you interact with the Website or the Service, Pregit.io may gather information that, alone or in combination with other information, could be used to identify you (“Personal Data”), as described below. If you are an EU data subject, please see the “EU Data Subject” section below for information on your rights in relation to the Personal Data we hold about you.

a) Personal Data used to provide the Service and respond to requests

When users sign up for the Service, users are required to authenticate with their version control system identity (e.g. GitHub). When users log in to the Service using sign-in services such as OAuth (for example, login with a GitHub account), these services will authenticate a user’s identity and provide the user with the option to share certain Personal Data, such as name and email address(es), with us. We use this data to provide you with access to the Service and/or the Website, contact you regarding your access and use of the Service and/or the Website or to notify you of important changes to the Service. For EU data subjects, such use is necessary for the performance of the contract between you and us.

If you send us a request or question regarding the use of the Service (for example via an email or via one of our feedback mechanisms), we may publish it (in anonymous form only) in order to help us clarify or respond to your request or to help us support other users.

Pregit.io collects Personal Data that you provide through the Service only insofar as is necessary or appropriate to fulfill the purpose of your interaction with Pregit.io, such as providing you with the Service and/or answering any requests regarding the Service as described above. You can always refuse to supply Personal Data, however doing so may prevent you from accessing the Service or engaging in certain activities on the Website or the Service.

b) Personal Data used for information updates

We will use your email to tell you about your Service usage, new features, solicit your feedback, or just keep you up to date with what’s going on with Pregit.io. If you change your mind about receiving information from us or about the use of information volunteered by you, please send us a request specifying your new choice. You may also choose to opt out of receiving such emails by following the unsubscribe instructions included in these emails.

Where required by applicable law (for example, if you are an EU data subject), we will only send you information by email if you consent to us doing so. When you provide us with your consent to be contacted for information update purposes, you have the right to withdraw your consent at any time by following the instructions to “opt-out” of receiving communication in each email we send you. Please note that if you opt out from information update communications, we may still contact you regarding issues related to our Service and to respond to your requests.

II. Automatically Collected Information

Like most hosted service operators, Pregit.io collects information of the sort that web browsers and servers typically make available, such as the browser type, language preference, referring site and the date and time of each visitor request and store it in log files. Pregit.io also collects Internet Protocol (“IP”) addresses, which can be used to identify the location from which your computer is connecting to the Website, for providing the Service and for support purposes.

Cookies: Pregit.io uses a technology called "cookies". Cookies cannot be executed as code or used to deliver a virus. Other servers cannot read them and personal information cannot be gathered from them. They are simply an identifier shared between you and us to allow us to improve the services we offer to you through our Website. Cookies allow sites to "remember" users across pages of a site and across multiple visits to a site. Pregit.io uses cookies to help deliver information specific to your interests, or to save your having to re-enter your password each time you visit our Website. Cookies also allow Pregit.io to better analyze our Web site traffic patterns so that we can enhance our Web offering. Advertising networks that serve ads onto our Web site may also use their own cookies. Cookies in and of themselves do not personally identify users, although they do identify a user's computer. Most browsers are initially set to accept cookies. If you prefer, you can set your browser to refuse cookies. However, you may not be able to take full advantage of a Website's functionality if you do so.

This Privacy Policy applies only to the Website and the Service and not to any third-party sites or hosted services you may find or access through our Website. If you submit Personal Data to any of those sites or services, your information will be governed by their privacy policies. We encourage you to carefully read the privacy policy of any site you visit or hosted service you use.

The Website and the Service may include social media features, such as the Twitter button, and widgets, such as the Share this button or interactive mini-programs. These features may collect your IP address, which page you are visiting on the Website, and may set a cookie to enable the feature to function properly. Social media features and widgets are either hosted by a third party or hosted directly on the Website or the Service. Your interactions with these features are governed by the privacy policy of the company providing it.

Web Analytics Services: Pregit.io uses Google Analytics, a service for the marketing analysis of the site provided by Google, Inc. Google Analytics uses cookies to allow us to see how you use our site so we can improve your experience. Google’s ability to use and share information collected by Google Analytics about your visits to the site is restricted by the Google Analytics Terms of Use available at https://www.google.com/analytics/terms/us.html and the Google Privacy Policy available at https://policies.google.com/privacy

Use of such automatically collected information is necessary for the performance of the contract between you and us, to the extent we process information that is needed for providing the Service and for support purposes, or is in our legitimate interest in understanding how the Service is being used by you and enhancing your experience on our Website and on the Service.

III. Information We Process

In providing the Service, we process certain information that may include Personal Data that Users transmit or otherwise submit to our Service. While our Users decide what data to submit, this information typically includes email address and information relating to project issue tracking.

Pregit.io collects, aggregates, and stores metrics and data relating to, generated by, provided in connection with, or derived from Users' use of the Service (“Usage Data”) in order to provide, maintain, support, enhance, develop and improve the Service. Pregit.io will not disclose individual metric or usage data other than in an aggregated and de-identified form. For EU data subjects, this use of your Personal Data is necessary for our legitimate interests in understanding how the Service is being used by you and to improve your experience on it.

Data Retention

We will retain Personal Data that our Users provide to us through the Service for the period necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.

Disclosure Of Personal Data

Pregit.io discloses Personal Data only to those that (1) need to know that data in order to perform certain services and functions on Pregit.io’s behalf and (2) have agreed to data protection and confidentiality obligations requiring to protect data. Third-party service providers include: (i) providers of hosting (which support us in the provision of the Service and maintenance of the Website), (ii) web analytics service providers (which help us collect statistics and other information, including through cookies, about the behavior of users of the Website and the Service). Pursuant to our instructions, these parties may access, process or store Personal Data in the course of performing their duties to us and only as necessary to provide the services we request. Pregit.io may also disclose Personal Data when required to do so by law, such as in response to lawful requests by public authorities, including to meet national security or law enforcement requirements.

Our legitimate interests do not automatically override your interests. We will not use your Personal Data for activities where our interests are overridden by the impact on you, unless we have your consent or those activities are otherwise required or permitted to by law. You have the right to object to processing that is based on our legitimate interests. For more information on your rights, please see “Your Rights” section above.

Data Retention: We will keep your Personal Data only for as long as is reasonably necessary for the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy, or for the duration required by law, whichever is the longer.

If we make any material changes to this Privacy Policy, we will either notify you by email (sent to the email address specified in your account) or by means of a notice on the Website and/or within the Service prior to the change becoming effective, or as otherwise required by the applicable law. We encourage you to periodically review the Website for the latest information on our privacy practices.
